I’ve always been a pinch hitter, able to pick up whatever jobs necessary to carry a project from conception to delivery. I realized that I liked making those big decisions even more - taking an ideation session and crafting a meaningful narrative of facts, data and stories, then pushing it out into the world through strategic marketing and communications. I’m obsessed with brand storytelling and what makes products and ideas contagious.
I decided to pursue journalism after realizing my Global Studies major probably wasn’t going to offer up a specific job following graduation. After a few years as a newspaper photographer, I transitioned to freelancing, which has allowed me to continue working for editorial publications like The New York Times and Science Magazine as well as expand into commercial photography for clients like Adobe, Top Hat and Kane Realty. Whatever the assignment, I’m always looking for the story and human connection.
My extensive personal and educational travel experience allowed me to work as a photographer and photography instructor with the international student travel company Rustic Pathways. Nothing compares to leading young travelers through new cultural experiences and teaching them how to capture their memories respectfully and with striking compositions.
